Course Overview:

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common diagnosis in pediatric practice today. While attention deficit can be a diagnosis in itself, it may also be a symptom of underlying neural inefficiency.

Through a deeper dive into sensory processing, we uncover multiple facets of a developmental hierarchy that supports clinical reasoning in assessment and intervention. Experts like Dr. Russell Barkley and Dr. Edward Hallowell emphasize self-regulation and self-reflection as key elements to consider—both overlapping significantly with sensory processing practices.

Students with ADHD often face challenges with executive functions. This one-day workshop uses a sensory processing lens to assess and plan interventions for various components of ADHD, while also examining different categories of executive functions.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Practical application of theory through treatment ideas
  • Insights illustrated through videos and discussions
  • Support for both clinical and school therapists in navigating ADHD and executive functioning

This workshop offers an in-depth journey into ADHD and executive functioning skills, providing valuable tools for professionals working in both clinical and educational settings.
